It all started with a frame bearing the worn decal “MODUCEL”. Was this the frame model, a frame maker, a sponsor? The frame looked well made, with a wrap over rear stay with chroming to the rear triangle, and entry and exit for the top tube cable run. A steel frame, but no label to indicate tubing make/ model. Thought to be Reynolds 753 or 653, possibly a pro’s frame-, but of significance or not? Worth a bid on eBay I thought…
Frame purchased, I set about searching for as much info as I could to try to establish its origin……..uncovering a British pro-cycling team from the 80’s, one of Britain’s most successful pro riders and confirmation as to the local frame builder.
